Lynn was born in Washington DC to Paul and Caroline Broyles. She graduated in 1968 from Northwood High School. In 1970 she gave birth to her daughter Cheryl. With the encouragement of family Lynn took and passed the Civil Service exam and began a 33+ year career in the Federal Civil Service. She began as a Secretary and finished her career as an Accounting Technician with DFAS. After retiring in 2008 she continued working for a few more years before deciding to go into full retirement mode.
Lynn had a gift for remembering everyone’s birthday and anniversary. At the beginning of each month she would take her list either to the Hallmark store or any store that had cards and get all the cards for the month. Her goal was to pick the right card out for each person and when the list was long she spent hours looking at and deciding on the perfect card. She also make it a point to call or text her family and close friends on a regular basis.
Her family and friends will always remember her for her love and loyalty. She was her daughter’s best friend, her biggest cheerleader and most avid supporter. He treated her stepsons as if they were her own children. She was a typical grandmother spoiling her grandchildren with lots of love. She was faithful to her Church for many years, helping with VBS and her “Church Mouse” duties of restocking the pews with the necessary items.
She was loved by many and will be missed but we are thankful that she has left his life and is now walking on streets of gold, pain and disease free. Her funeral will Tuesday, July 25 at 12:30 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, 619 N New Warrington Road, Pensacola FL. At 1:30 we will be escorted to Barrancas National Cemetery for interment at 2:00 pm. After the funeral family and friends are invited to the First Pentecostal Church at 6500 North W Street, Pensacola FL. Oak Lawn Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
