Margaret J Clayton

1921 - 2012

Margaret “Bobbie” Clayton went to be with our Lord on Sunday, April 22, 2012, she was 91 years old.

Bobbie was born in Valdosta, Georgia, on February 23, 1921, but raised five children in Pensacola where her husband owned and operated Clayton’s Pharmacy. Bobbie enjoyed being a homemaker and regularly invited her children and their families to holiday dinners in her home creating special memories for all. Bobbie will always be remembered for her love and enthusiasm for cooking which was passed on to her children and their spouses. Bobbie collected family recipes for many years and wrote two cookbooks, “Something Special” and “Something Else Special,” which are used and treasured by her children.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Clayton, Jr. and daughter, Marie Annette Clayton Bridges, and her parents, J.B. and Marie Johnson.

Bobbie is survived by four sons, Ronald Clayton (Jane) and Peter Clayton from Pensacola, Scott Clayton (Wanda) from Atlanta, and Herbert “Bud” Clayton III (Cindy) from Mobile; three grandchildren, Robert and Jay Clayton from Atlanta and Connor Clayton from Pensacola; and two great grandchildren Paige and Blair Clayton from Atlanta.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Bayview Memorial Park.
