It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Marian Vaughan Green. She was born in Mobile, Alabama on December 9th, 1944. After high school, she attended Livingston University and graduated with a degree in English. She later obtained a Masters Degree from Pensacola Christian College. She was an accomplished news reporter and was employed, at one time, with the Mobile Press Register and the Associated Press. She was an avid baseball fan of the L.A. Dodgers, a civil war historian, and she had a great fondness for cats. While she did not have any children, she treated her nephews and niece as if her own and always remembered birthdays, holidays, and special events. She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore R. Vaughan, Sr. and Bernice Pruitt Eubanks. She is survived by her sister, Mary Barfield (AL), her brother, Theodore R. Vaughan, Jr. (America), her lifelong friend Marta McConnell Pierce, and her nephews, Kevin Merritt, David Merritt, Matt Barfield, Mike Vaughan, Greg Vaughan, Geoff Vaughan and her niece Cristina Vaughan O’Connell.
