It is with great sadness that the family of Mary Louise Winans Simmons announce her passing on Thursday, June 7, 2018. Mary Louise was born in Magnolia, MS to Alyne and John Winans. She was preceded in death by her parents, along with older brother Eddie Joe. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Edgar Tate Simmons, Jr., her brother John Winans, sister-in-law Diane Winans, stepdaughters Ragan Davies, and Susannah Calahan, niece Allison Catchot and nephew Patrick Winans. She is the beloved grandmother to Rachael Doctorman, Erinn Lebaron, Hunter and Garett Davies, along with Alyssa, Matthew, and Caroline Oakley. She is the Great Grandmother to Savannah, EJ, Victoria, Roman, Lincoln, and Greyson Lebaron.
Louise’s love of people was her trademark. In fact, one of her most memorable quotes
was, “The people that we love don’t make our lives, but the way we love them does and that last forever”. She never met a stranger, and she genuinely cared for everyone around her. She knew the most amazing gift she could ever give others was her time. She gave it generously. She will be deeply missed and remembered always in the hearts of the ones she left behind. She has gone home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she walked with daily here on earth in spirit, but is now able to walk with hand-in-hand in Heaven. God rest her soul.
