Michael Julian Penland, 71, of Pensacola, died September 01, 2014.
Mr. Penland was born June 21, 1943 in Murphy, North Carolina. After a career with Lockheed Martin, Mr. Penland moved to Pensacola and worked for Westinghouse for 26 years and retired. Even though he loved the mountains, he moved to Florida to enjoy the sunshine and warm climate. He enjoyed a wide range of activities from fishing to playing video games. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, grandkids, and his friends at Northpointe Retirement Center.
Mr. Penland was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Penland and Lois Kitchens Penland.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Marissa and Charles Box of Pace, FL; son, Jeff Penland of Hiawassee, GA; grandchildren, David, Michael and Jonathan Box.
Private services will be held in North Carolina.
