Penny Lee Godwin Baggett was called to heaven on Saturday December 6th 2025.
She was born on November 29th, 1943 to Alfred Macon Godwin and Rosalee Wilson Godwin.
Penny was a graduate of Conecuh County High School.
She married the love of her life, William Harvey Baggett Jr. (Bill) on August 15th, 1964.
Penny has always been a very strong woman and an inspiration to all that she encountered. Her first and strongest love was to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ WITH whom she shared an EVERLASTING spiritual relationship.
She a dedicated servant of our Lord, but she served as a messenger and a Shepperd, bringing others to Christ. Penny was blessed with a divine spiritual gift enabling her to speak in Tongues and translate the language back to others. She ushered many souls to serve our Lord, including that of her husband who has been known to say that, “She was the best thing that ever happened to me. She straightened me out.”
Momma was passionate about her family and friends and loved to spend time visiting, traveling and chatting with all. Her Sunday afternoon two hour phone calls to her daughter Susie was a fun bonding necessity for both of them.
Momma had a LOVE, for the outdoors and enjoyed flower gardening, camping and especially the beach. Many weekends were spent camping at Navarre, Ft. Pickens and Lake Stone. Even when her body would no longer cooperate, her family dedicated themselves to getting her back onto the water when she wanted to go.
Her two favorite holidays were Easter and Christmas. Every year, she looked forward to THE Easter Egg hunt with the family, especially with the egg thief (Bryce), who vowed to hunt Easter eggs with Granny Penny forever. The “wheelchair” egg hunts will forever be a fun memory for all.
The precious time that she spent with family were GOLDEN moments that will be cherished forever.
You have forever been a faithful CHILD of God.
Until we meet again……..
