Rene Scarborough Boyd

Rene was retired from American Cyanamid Company after 27 years of service. She served as a volunteer at the Sacred Heart Women’s and Children’s Hospital in the newborn nursery for over 5 years. Rene also led the seniors’ exercise class for many years at the Bayview Senior Center. She was an avid bridge player and played at many locations including Gulf Breeze, Tiger Point, Bayview Senior Center and other locations. Being married to Capt. Walter W. Boyd, USN (ret) for five wonderful years, she also belonged to the Retired Officers Wives Association.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter W. Boyd as well as two brothers, Mel and Wes Scarborough.

Survivors are her stepson, Mark Boyd; sisters-in-law, Marie Scarborough (Wes), Joyce Scarborough (Mel); brother, Tony Scarborough (Frances); sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Cliff Nasor and sister, Brenda Payne.

The family will receive friends at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel from 2:00-3:00 pm with the service to begin at 3:00 pm. Friends are welcome to a gathering at Rene’s home after the funeral.
