Born in Pensacola, FL, he was the son of Robert Wade and Ruby Marie Silcox. He graduated from Escambia High School, Class of 1974. He held a variety of jobs including: Contracting officer for the Navy Public Works Center at NAS Pensacola, Pipefitter, Ironworker, Carpenter, Millwright Foreman for various power plants in the Southern U.S., Contractor for Gulf Power and General Electric, truck driver, and owner/operator of Oakwood Marine -- his outboard boat motor repair business.
He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He enjoyed fishing, bowhunting, genealogy, playing guitar, cars, and going on motorcycle rides on his Triumph. He will be remembered for his confident, down-to-Earth personality, and as someone who always believed he could tackle whatever came his way and had the willingness to do it. He built his current family home utilizing the time he had off from work. Many aspects of this home, such as kitchen cabinetry--were all custom made by Robert's hands. He was a loving family man who could be counted on. Anyone who knew Robert, knew what a good man he was.
He is survived by his wife: Margaret Susan Silcox; two children: Michael Silcox and Jennifer Pyle; two sisters: Linda DeLoe and Vickie Luker; three grandchildren: Psyrus James Pyle, Allie Callista Silcox, and Sasha Ann Silcox.
