Ron was born in Johnson City, Tennessee to Estella and Robert Cooper on June 29, 1941. He met the love of his life, Judy, and they were married in 1961. They have been married 62 years. Ron was a Union Pipe Welder and Fitter. He worked for Local Union 234 of Jacksonville, Florida and after moving to Pensacola, Florida in 1970 he worked for Local Union 366 of Pensacola, Florida. He was also a United States Marine, where he loved being a USMC Boxer. Ron had a passion for fishing, singing and going to Church, where he was a member of Ensley First Baptist Church.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents Estella and Robert Cooper, his sister Diane Julian Cooper, brothers; George Cooper and R.J. Cooper.
He is survived by his wife Judy Cooper, son Ronnie James Cooper, 4 grandchildren; Audreyanna Cooper (20), Steven Cooper (16), Noah Cooper (15) and Olivia Cooper (14). He also leaves behind to cherish his memory a sister-in-law who was like a daughter that he help raise, Lisa (Daniel) Alexander.
A visitation for Ron L. Cooper will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534, followed by a funeral service with committal and military honors at 11:30 AM.
