

Ronald J. Jurgensmeyer, a boisterous and fun-loving individual, passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 78. A resident of Tallahassee, Florida, Ronald was known for being compassionate, hard-working, and a dedicated law enforcer. Above all, he was a devoted family man.
Ronald served his country with honor in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1989. Following his military service, he continued his career at the Department of Corrections from 1991 to 2003 and again from 2005 to 2021.
Born to William C. Jurgensmeyer and Irmine A. Schwaller Jurgensmeyer, Ronald was a cherished member of his family. He married Donna J. Baker on August 22, 1975, with whom he shared a loving marriage until her passing. Together, they raised three children: David (Tamara) Smith, Julie (Joey) Neet, and Rebecca (Shawn) Stanley. He was also a proud grandfather to Kent (Destiny) Smith, Tyler (Monzeratt) Stanley, Kyle (Kaitlyn) Smith, Matthew Neet, and Sara Neet, who is engaged to Peyton Davenport. Ronald's legacy continues with his great-grandchildren, Marlya Stanley and the eagerly anticipated arrival of "Baby K" in February.
Ronald is survived by his siblings, Janice Haltmeyer, Donald (Carol) Jurgensmeyer, William (Elaine) Jurgensmeyer, and Patrick (Diane) Jurgensmeyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Donna, and siblings Edward, Anthony, and Susan Jurgensmeyer.
A visitation will be held on October 22, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home, located at 1985 West Nine Mile Road, Pensacola, FL 32534. The funeral service will take place on October 23, 2025, at 11:00 am at the same venue, followed by the committal service in Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens. Ronald J. Jurgensmeyer will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.
