Sally Yvonne Mandel died at home Saturday, December 12, 2015 surrounded by family. Yvonne always had an open door, open arms and an open heart for anyone who needed a home. She had a passion for family and fun and had a feisty, loving personality. Yvonne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Christian Mandel, Sr. and her son Joseph Christian, Jr. and her grandsons Steven Blackmon and Devon Averheart. She is survived by four children Tony and Suzi Mandel, Rhonda and Jeff Quave, Sandra and Fred Gilley, Darlene and Phil Blackmon; her grandchildren Chris, Kandi, Kerri, and Suzanne; Sommer and Little Tony; Kelly, Casey and Samantha; Jamie, Julie and Leander; Ashley, Nick, Megan and Heather. Other survivors include 29 great grandchildren and adoring nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to her church family at Soul’s Harbor. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Tuesday December 15, 2015 at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. Services will begin at 11 am on Wednesday December 16, 2015 at Eastern Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.
