Really miss talking to my cousin, Sammy.  I'll start to pick up the phone  and remember he is now with the Heavenly Father. I can see him laughing and joking with my Father and Mother who he adored and  all the rest of our family.  Sending love and prayers to all who are missing him today.

Remembering the afternoons coming home from school, he would help with homework then we would get out in the yard and clean up the pine straw and pine cones. And during the summer him getting in the pool with us. And one January I said I’d get in the pool and when it came time to do it I chickened out so he threw me into the pool. Boy that was very cold. Growing up he was one of the greatest  men in my life. 

Finally had a family reunion in Sept 2016 in Leesville LA!!

My mother and her sister, Alpha, Sammy's mother, were very close. We spent a lot of time visiting them in Pensacola or here in Houston.  Those were some of my fondest childhood memories. He was a sweet and caring person and I regret that our life paths didn't allow us to see much of each other later in life. He was blessed to have many who loved him and will now miss him greatly until we are all together once again.

While stationed in Guam we went through training together to prepare for war games with Navy Seals and Marines. It was in preparation for real world threats that had been made by a registered terrorist organization.  During training Sammy had a tendency to  butt heads with the instructors, many of which had never seen combat. When it came time to field test our training, those instructors tried to set Sammy up for failure.  They had prepared a team from the Naval Air Station to ambush Sammy's Navcams recon team as we were attempting to identify Marine positions.  Sammy's experience became the winning combination that resulted in our recon team capturing the ambush team and identifying the Marine positions. 
   This not going the way the instructors had planned in an attempt to discredit him,  we were told to stand down and relax. Resume our digging in for the night. Sammy covertly prepared us for an evening ambush and posted listening posts while moving our positions. When the Marines and Seals attempted to ambush us after dark they attacked empty foxholes and were captured.  Again Sammy beat the Instructors. COL Miller of the Marine detachment congratulated Sammy and told him, my Marines will be retraining for the next two weeks. They should never have taken you for granted.   With "Sammy's guidance and input," 
I earned Top Honor Graduate for this course. He was a natural leader. 

I remember all the holidays and summer get together and pool parties we had together. RIP Sammy you will be missed by some many.
