Sue Hyde Brown

Sue Brown, 90, passed away peacefully at her residence in Niceville, FL, on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023. Sue was born on February 5, 1933 to Jake and Corine Hyde in Clarksdale, MS. She grew up in Clarksdale and it was there she met and married her husband Donald Brown. They moved to Pensacola, Florida, in 1963 where they went about building and raising their family. Sue was the mother of 5 children. While raising her kids, mostly as a stay at home mother, she received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of West Florida in Social Sciences. For years she worked for the State of Florida, working as a mentor for foster families.

Sue liked to travel. She visited Spain, South Africa, Nova Scotia, Boston, New York, San Francisco and many other destinations. She was an expert seamstress. She mastered multiple types of sewing. Many of her friends and family received beautiful gifts she created with this talent.

Sue was especially proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a Christian woman and had many friends. She lived a happy, productive and generous life and will be missed dearly.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband Donald Brown, her parents Jake and Corine Hyde and her brother Jim Hyde.

She is survived by her sister Shirley Neal (David); children Donna Kidney (John), Steve Brown (Keitha), Melanie Dumas (Mike), Amy Welch (Steve) and Kenneth Brown (Candy); her grandchildren, Daniel Stewart, Matthew Stewart, Michelle Kidney Giordano, Amanda Yelinek, Chris Dumas, Nicholas Welch, Patrick Welch, David Welch, Alex Welch, Sean Brown, Ryley Brown, Savannah Brown; and her great grandchildren, Chris Dumas Jr., Braylynn Yelinek, Piper Dumas, Myiah Giordano, J.J. Giordano and Kysean Giordano.
