Terri Jo Williams left this world on August 12, 2022. Terri leaves behind sons, Kevin (and Abigail); Bryan (and Emily); grandchildren, Lyla, Ariel, Miles, Wesley and Jack; sisters, Suzanne, Marsha and Patricia (Richard); nephews, Daniel, Matthew and Stephen; father, Bob. Terri was preceded in death by her son Jason and mother, Jan.
Terri grew up in Pensacola, Orlando and Atlanta. While living in Atlanta, she always enjoyed one particular aspect of her jobs- the interaction with people. Terri never met a stranger. She would immediately engage as though she had known people forever, being the first to empathize with anyone’s problems. While working with the school district, Terri embraced every opportunity to engage with the school children. She loved the time she was able to be a part of their lives as Terri’s calling and gift was giving of herself to others.
Not one to sit idly by, she was always on the move and the outdoors was always calling. Whether gardening or taking care of the yard, hiking the Appalachian Trail, putting together a massive swing set for her children, or walking on the beach or hiking in the mountains, Terri found happiness in nature and it provided the ability to revitalize her spirit. As evidenced by her lifelong collection of Native American keepsakes, she shared the cultural sanctity of nature and animals. Terri was a compassionate lover of animals, big and small. Any stray that might cross her path found a loving home.
Terri was strong, funny, hard working and exceedingly caring and loving. She often had a gleam in her eye, a look and smile that was Terri’s trademark- a high-spirited girl that met challenges and was able to move forward.
Terri’s proudest accomplishments, hands down, were her children. The pride she exuded when talking about them was second to none. Throughout their lives, Terri treasured her role as mother to Kevin and Bryan, and by extension, to their families and her five grandchildren.
Lives are like rivers: eventually they go where they must. Not where we want them to. Terri will live on in our hearts, as we share memories of a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. She will always be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Terri, although we are apart, your spirit lives within us, and you are forever in our hearts.
A Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, with a Graveside Service to follow at Bayview Memorial Park. Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
