Tommy and I have been friends since the 50's. His friend Buddy Wells lived behind me in Salisbury NC which was Tommy's home town. Tommy was boyfriend to my friend Ogie. She also being from
Salisbury. She was a classmate of my husband Robert Hopkins. We
went to church together and was married in same church. (but not
at same time).
Years went by and we 4 ended up in Charleston SC serving in US Navy. As Uncle Sam would have it the guys were transferred in
separate directions. and years went by. Ogie and Tommy went to
Maraco and we went to Conn. Then their family was transferred to Conn also. At that time we lived together as family. From that
point on we were bound by love and friends forever. With the cornovirus calls the shots we regret that we will not be able to be
with Ogie and Donald at the time of Tommy's passing. They remain in our prayers today and always. We thank God for them
and what they meant to us all these years. We pray for peace for them and their family. With love, Hop and Carole

I was the ship's services and disbursing officer in USS Albert David (DE-1050) when Tom was there. I accidentally left the ship's safe unlocked one day. It had about $100,000 in it in cash. He noticed the safe was unlocked, sent a messenger to find me, and guarded the office and the safe until I got there to lock it back. Not a penny was missing. That was 50 years ago. I still hold him in high esteem . A fine person.

Oh my sweet Ogie ! I am so sorry to hear of Tomโ€™s passing. Yโ€™all were such good friends to Olga and Al all those years. I will never forget how kind you both were to Joe and I and to Jennifer and Gregory. You know Olga is making a big pan of Enchiladas for Tom as he always raved about them! We had some good times and some great laughs and I will never forget you and Tom.
Sending you hugs and prayers during this time - May Tom rest in eternal peace. ๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜‡
