She was a loving mother and friend who loved the outdoors and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a long time member of Lakeview Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her son Michael Cox and daughter Brenda (John) Baldwin; three grandchildren, Christina (Johnny) Weiss, Nathan Flowers, Michelle (Michael) Steadham ; three great grandchildren, Dalton Flowers, Spencer and Gavin Steadham; one brother Maurice (Janie) Stacy and one sister, Geneva (James) Browning.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years Johnnie W. Cox and brother Charles Stacy.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 15th from 3:00pm – 5:00pm at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home 1985 W. Nine Mile Rd. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm Monday, March 16th with Dr. Charles S. Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens. Arrangements entrusted to Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
