Barbara Jean Clarke-McCoy Grathler

Peoria – Barbara Jean Grathler (Clarke-McCoy) was born September 10, 1943 in Newport, AR to Eugene Clarke and Corintha B. Dothard (Henry). She entered into rest Sunday, November 08, 2015 at Heartland Health Care of Peoria at the age of 72. Barbara is survived by her devoted loving husband Dallas Irvin Grathler of 39 years. Four children: Corintha L. (John) Harris of Willingboro, N.J., Dondi Wayne Gillispie of Peoria, IL, Charlotta G. (Garrett) Morris of Mapleton, IL and Thomas E. (Jodi) McCoy III of Peoria, IL, Four grandchildren: Vonique Harris, John D. Harris III, Danielle Gillispie, and Dwain Gillispie, three great grandchildren: Jaheim, La’Ajah and Lai’Ani Harris, five siblings: Victoria, Raymond, Vincent, Janice, Denise, a number of nephews, nieces, and cousins, and two extended daughters; Kim and Joilee. Barbara loved going fishing with her children, going to the casino, playing cards with friends, and attending her yearly Alumni gathering at W.F. Branch School in Arkansas. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Beersheba Lodge. She met her husband Dallas in New Jersey and they celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary in March. Barbara worked in Burlington County, N.J. Ammunition Plant in the 1970s, she volunteered at local missions and she was well known in her community. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Barbara is preceded in death by her father Eugene Clarke, sister Cora, niece Andrea, nephew Bobby, and her brothers Stevie and Gary. Services will be held at 11 am Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
