Betty L. Adams

Betty was born September 13, 1923 in Bradford, Illinois to Harry J. and Mary Buchanan of Peoria. She married Robert J. Adams December 10, 1942 in Peoria, he preceded her in death on November 29, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Stephen C. Adams; three sisters, Mary Ellen Hendryx, Mildred Atkinson and Lily Sharp; and her one brother, Jack Buchanan.

Surviving is her son, Robert J. (Brenda) Adams Jr. of Pekin, Illinois; six grandchildren, Jeff (Kristie) Adams, Jody (Doug) Simmonds, Janessa (Jonathan) Kingdon, Justin Adams, Brooke (Alan) McReynolds and Caitlyn (Kevin) Lund; 12 great-grandchildren; and daughter in law, Shelley Adams.

Bob and Betty were married for 67 years. Betty was a volleyball player winning the city championship with the Proctor “Wrecks” in 1962. Betty loved family gatherings, grandchildren and anything from the Trefzgers Bakery. She was a supervisor for Adams Business Clean Inc. for 20 years, last working in 1998.

Betty was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church.

Private family graveside services will be held. Deacon John Nelson will officiate.

Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
