She was born Aug. 14, 1927 in Pope County, IL to Ward and Orla (Lauderdale) Klink. She married Allin Schweitzer on April 25, 1948 in Peoria. He passed away March 10, 2022 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Lorene Tumilty and Phyllis Klink.
Survivors include one daughter, Gail Anderson of Champaign, IL, one son, Eric (Cheryl) Schweitzer of O’Fallon, MO, seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Betty Jo was a member and very active at Forrest Hill United Methodist Church in Peoria. While at church she was active in the Women’s Society, helped with the church luncheons, and the church bazaars.
She enjoyed researching family genealogy, was a talented seamstress, and was an enthusiastic baker.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 12, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to her church, Forrest Hill United Methodist Church.
