Bruce A. Mears

He was born Sep. 20, 1954 in Saline County, IL to Alan and Neva (Billman) Mears.

He is survived by his mother Neva Townsend of Peoria, three children: Troy Mears of Clearwater, FL, Ryan Mears of Palatine, IL, Brittney Mears of Peoria, one grandson, Jakob Mears of Peoria, one brother, Brad Mears of Washington, IL, two sisters: Julie Mears of the Quad Cities, Janet (Mark) Jones of Indianapolis, IN, and his very close girlfriend, Allene Harms of Washington, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alan Mears and his step-father, James Townsend.

Bruce was currently working in the Parts Dept. at Sam Leman Dodge.

He was an avid bowler and golfer. He was a member of the United States Bowling Congress. Bruce wrestled for East Peoria High School and later coached youth wrestling in East Peoria.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be Saturday Nov. 19, 2011 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Mary Kathryn Pearce will officiate.

Burial of the cremains will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
