

He was born on July 13, 1935, in Oak Park, a son of Charles Edward and Sophie (Pawlik) Brodkorb. He married Martha Mary Wasilowski on July 6, 1957, in East Chicago, IN. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2015, in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Wayne is survived by his three children, Tim (Heather Bloom) Brodkorb of Pittsburgh, PA, Paul (Amy) Brodkorb of Dunlap and Joanne (Terry) Carter of Metamora; and five grandchildren, Elizabeth (Tyler) Brodkorb, Faith Brodkorb, Jacob Brodkorb, Skyeler Brodkorb and Laurel Brodkorb.
Wayne was a graduate of the University of Illinois in Champaign. He was a music teacher for District 150 in Peoria for 34 years, retiring in 1991. He had previously been a music teacher for Wyoming and East Peoria schools. Wayne was a past member of the Peoria Municipal Band, Peoria Accordion Club, Peoria Symphony, Peoria Area Senior Band and Peoria Pops and a past manager of the Peoria Youth Symphony. He was a former choir director at All Saints Episcopal Church in Morton and St. Francis Episcopal Church in Dunlap. He was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church in Peoria.
Wayne’s private memorial service will take place at Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Fr. Waylon Lawrence will be officiating.
