

Dallas Gene Lynch, 83, of Peoria, passed away at 8:06 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2012 at Liberty Village Manor Court in Peoria. He was born January 31, 1929 in Decatur, IL, the son of Dewey and Mildred (Cunningham) Lynch. He married Dorothy Wright on August 8th, 1948. She survives along with his sister, Shirley Hausahn of Pekin, sister-in-law, Betty Lynch of Peoria, three sons and wives: Glen (Janet) of Normal, Dave (Arlene) of Germantown Hills and Ken (Teri) of Dunlap. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Jason (Monica) Lynch, Corey (Carly) Lynch with newborn daughter, Kaya, Kindra Lynch, Brandy (Kerry) Yocum with newborn son Reid, Kamy Lynch, Matt Lynch and Matt's fiancé, Bridgette Levy. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Donald and Kenneth Lynch and 1 sister, Betty Kruse. Dallas was a Peoria City firefighter for 21 years, promoted to the position of fire captain in 1967 and retiring in 1976. He was the founder of Lynch Aluminum, becoming the first area company in the 70's to offer seamless gutters. Lynch Aluminum remains family owned and operated today, with Dallas retiring in 2000. Dallas graduated from Manual High School in 1946, was a Mason and belonged to the Elks organization for many years. He enjoyed playing and watching golf, and through the years, also enjoyed winters in Florida with friends and snow skiing. The family would like to say a special thank you to all of the wonderful caregivers at Liberty Village that gave Dallas loving care during his period of illness. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the chapel and one half hour prior to services on Tuesday. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
