

He was born July 24, 1956 in Pekin to George R. and Barbara Lou (Doughty) McLeod-Hill. He married Milicent Driver in Philadelphia, PA in 1978. He later married Steve Skinner, he survives. Also surviving are two brothers: Michael (Lynn) McLeod of Pekin, John McLeod of Ventura, CA, one sister-in-law, and many nieces, and nephews: Jessica Kormah, Gabriel (Elizabeth) McLeod, Marcus McLeod, Miles McLeod, Mason McLeod, Melody McLeod, Erin (Johnny) Darge, Brooke (Zack) Borough, Landon (Evie) McLeod, and Moriah McLeod.
He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, Steven McLeod, and longtime close friend, Steve Sonnemaker.
David owned and operated David's Bar in downtown Peoria in the 1990's. He later worked for many years at OSF St Francis Medical Center in Peora as an Inventory Technician on the Cardiology floor, retiring in 2020.
A highlight of David's life was his High School Senior summer trip to France. He loved to voraciously read history books. He also loved his dogs.
David graduated from Pekin High School in 1974 and from Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee in 1978 with a History major and sang in the college choral.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services at this time.
