

She was born April 4, 1933 in Beardstown to James and Ada (Sudeth) Smith. She married Charles Walters May 21, 1950 in Beardstown. He passed away Oct. 25, 1991 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles “Chuck” Walters; one grandson, Joseph Walters; six sisters: Veda Stark, Zeda Perrilles, Inez Morgan, Dorene Woodworth, Marcella Bowman, Betty Lemon; and one brother, Louis Smith.
Survivors include one daughter, Tina (Sam) Bill of Peoria; three sons, Danny (Brenda) Walters of Marquette Heights, Carl Walters of Peoria, John (Star) Walters of Oak Creek, WI; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one daughter-in-law, Wanda Walters of Fayetteville, NC; one sister-in-law, Phyllis Smith of Peoria; two sisters: Rosalie Wubker of Virginia, IL, Joanne Staake of Arenzville, IL; three brothers: Richard, James, Tommy Smith all of Pekin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Moe was a member of the First Christian Church of Disciples of Creve Coeur. She always enjoyed having big family gatherings where she would cook her world famous fried chicken. She has always been the family’s foundation.
Funeral services will be Thursday January 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Rev. Dwight Winnett will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
