Donald G. Beckwith

Donald was born in Peoria on August 2, 1932 the son of Edward A. & Marguarite (Cotton )Beckwith. He married Geraldine Anderson in Peoria on February 23,1952.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years; two daughters, Janice Beckwith and Cynthia Stout both of Peoria; one son Kevin (Sherrie) of Bartonville; two granddaughters, Tracy (Kevin) Chaney of Elmwood, and Sara (Robert Ridley) Stout of Peoria; three great-grandchildren.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Debra Garland; one son Steven Beckwith; one brother Jack Beckwith Sr.; one sister Dixie Doss.

After retirement Donald frequently attended the Riverman games with his family. He spent a great deal of time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Don and his family attended many Cubs games at Wrigley Field. Donald was a lifelong Cub fan even though he never got to see them in the World Series.

Donald worked for Reliable Life Insurance for 30 years, retiring in 1991.

Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m. on Friday September 7, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Deacon Terry McWhirter will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to services also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association of Peoria.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
