

She was born December 30, 1920 in Brimfield, IL to Everette and Nelle (Cornish) Beall. She married James Sullivan on November 15, 1945 in Brimfield, IL; he preceded her in death on January 5, 1977 in Peoria. Her parents and one sister, Helen Hornback also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her daughter, Judy Tomlinson of Peoria; two grandchildren, Mike (Holly) Tomlinson of Peoria and Tiffany (Mike) Higgins of Washington, IL; five great-grandchildren, Matt, Luke, Allisyn, Drew and Connor and two nephews, Steve Hornback of Brimfield and Ed Hornback of Ridge Farm, IL.
Doris worked for Hart Carter for several years building munitions for the war. After the war she left to get married and raise a family. After her husband passed away Doris worked as a sales associate at Bergner’s at Madison Park for over 13 years until its closing. She was a former president of the Women’s Club at Norwood School and loved to bowl, play volleyball and square dance all which she did into her 50’s. She also enjoyed playing cards and was part of a pinochle club. She was strong in her faith and was a member of the Bradley Epworth United Methodist Church in Peoria.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. A funeral service will be Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
