

Dorothy June Lynch, age 86 of Peoria passed away at Liberty Village Manor Court, Saturday, March 21, 2015. She was born June 2, 1928 to Joseph and Hermina (Hampton) Wright and married Dallas Lynch August 8, 1948 in Bartonville, IL. Dallas preceded her in death as did her sister, Norma Jean Powell.
She was a loving mother to sons Glen (Jan) Lynch of Normal, David (Arlene) of East Peoria and Ken (Teri) of Dunlap, loving grandmother to Jason (Monica) Lynch, Matt (Bridgette) Lynch, Corey (Carly) Lynch, Brandy (Kerry) Yocum all of Peoria area, Kindra Lynch of Vancouver, WA and Kamy (Jake) Shasteen of Dubuque, IA. and great grandparent to Kaya, Maxine June, and Meyers Lynch and Reid Yocum. She leaves behind sisters-in-law, Shirley Haushahn and Betty Lynch, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was a graduate of the 1946 class at Manual High School and in 1962 from Hi-Fashion Beauty College in Peoria. She worked in the mail room of Keystone Wire, then as a beautician, and later as a secretary for Lynch Aluminum, a family business.
She belonged to the Elks Lodge and Bartonville United Methodist Church singing in the choir there.
Dorothy enjoyed her family, bowling, golfing and skiing along with winters in Florida.
The family sincerely thanks the staff at Liberty Village and Gwen at Harbor Lights Hospice for their special loving care of Dorothy.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24 from 4-7 p.m. at Davison -Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with funeral services Wednesday, March 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Alzheimer’s Association or American Diabetes Association.
