She was born to Walter and Mathilda (Heyen) Hauschild on June 8, 1928 in Bunker Hill, IL.
Dorothy graduated from Gillespie Community High School in 1946 and went on to get her bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University in 1950. She taught at Henry-Senachwine High School from 1950-1955. She later worked at Caterpillar Inc. from January 1956 as a computer operator and retired in January of 1990. Dorothy was also a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Peoria for many years.
She was married to Don Hager from 1954 to 1967. She later married Buddie Brice Weaks on December 21, 1969 in Peoria. He preceded her in death.
Dorothy is survived by her two children, Denise (Bob) Elwell, and Dennis (Mary) Hager both of Princeville, IL; three stepdaughters, “Linda” Marilyn Weaks, Barb (Ken) Bloomfield and Sandy (Ed) Wood; three grandchildren, Jason (Jill) Hager, Nichole (Dan) Jolly and Andy (Bethany) Elwell; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Emma Hager; and six siblings,Melva Reid, Clarence (Nancy) Hauschild, Marguerite (Jim) Tilashalski, Norma (Stanley) Padgett, Raymond Hauschild, and Judy Douglass.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her twin brothers,Carl and Earl Hauschild, and a stepdaughter,Judy (Steve) Andrychuk.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the staff at Liberty Village of Peoria for their care and compassion,especially her hospice nurse Mae.
Per her wishes,Dorothy donated her body to Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois and requested no services.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home.
