Doug was my first day shift supervisor at Caterpillar Lafayette-3500 Block Line in 1987. Was great to work for, and later on, to work with.

I was very sad to hear of Doug's passing. I worked with Doug for many years in Lafayette. I have a great deal of respect for him because of how he treated me and others. You have my sympathy in this time.

You should be so proud to have a husband, father, and grandfather who was such a great person.  I started working with Doug in the Apprentice program approx 1976 and was sincerely excited when our paths continued to cross for the past 40 years. He was honorary president of FAAC (Friday Afternoon Apprentice Club) and his wit and knowledge helped us get past the world famous Chuck Ruppert.  Doug was truly a great friend.  Mary and I are so sorry for your loss.

Very sorry for your loss, Doug was way too young to leave yet, we first knew one another way before Lafayette in Mossville DD as third shift line foreman, he had the toughest line in the west end, 3208 blocks, and he was tough enough to run it. May the Grace of Christ give your family comfort in your grieving.

Dear Paula, Staci, Ty & Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Doug was a wonderful man.

I was his purchasing analyst for 5 years, and I came to know and love him then. He was a by-the-book kinda guy, which gave me the opportunity to tease him occasionally. He had such a wealth of knowledge and was so hardworking.

Doug was especially proud of his family.  While he was largely a private person, that all changed when he became a grandpa. He always liked to share the most recent pictures of DJ and Hadley.

Doug was one-of-a-kind, and I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to work with him. He will be missed.

   I am so sorry for your loss.  I had the privilege of working with him for the last few years.  He was a great guy and a joy to be around.  He had a wealth of knowledge that he was always willing to share with his coworkers.

I had the privilege of working with Doug at Caterpillar since 2007. He was truly a great gentlemen who was eager to share his knowledge with his fellow employees.

I will always remember Doug and the good times we had while working at the Lafayette Engine Plant. Doug was a hard working, conscientious fellow. Doug was a good man.

I will also remember a couple of summers when Ty and my son, Matt. were on an all-star baseball team. One year the team made it to the Mid-West Regionals played in East Peoria. That was great fun.
