Edmund J. Joseph

Edmund was born on July 16, 1924 in Peoria to Nelson and Labeba (Mrad) Joseph. He married Mary Jane Corey on July 12, 1960.

Edmund is survived by his wife; his children, Pamela (Dan) Kouri of Peoria, Tammy Joseph of East Peoria and Debra (Marcus) Weeks of Dunlap; six grandchildren, Dan Jr., Jennifer, Joseph and Louis Kouri and Jacqueline and Joseph Weeks. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joe Joseph.

Edmund worked his whole life for his family’s grocery store, Joseph’s Brothers Market until he retired and the store was sold to the city in 1986. The only time Edmund did not work for the store was when he served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946. Edmund was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church in East Peoria as well as the ITOO Society, the Knights of Columbus and Duck’s Unlimited.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 10am at St. Sharbel Catholic Church with Chorbishop Faouzi Elia officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from 5pm to 8pm at the church with the Rosary at 8pm and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or the ITOO Society Lebanon Memorial Fund. Arrangements are handled by Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria.
