He was born on September 13, 1945 in Terre Haute, IN to William and Sophia (Edwards) Jones. He married Phyllis Bennett in 1982.
Surviving are his caregiver, Phyllis Jones; two step-sons, Todd (Wendy) Bennett of Peoria Heights and Chad Bennett of Torrance, CA; and one step-daughter-in-law, JoAnne Bennett.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a step-son, Rick Bennett.
Edward served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and reached the rank of Sargent before being honorably discharged in 1973. Edward then worked as a Machinist with Caterpillar Inc. for many years before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, and quite time at home.
Cremation will be accorded and a burial of the urn will be at 3 pm on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
