He was born July 17, 1938, in Peoria, the son of Clarence and Ada Talbert Lane. He married Ida Miller on February 23, 1962. She preceded him in death on December 30, 2013.
George is survived by one daughter, Lisa (Doug) Swisher of Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren, Stephen ( Stefani) Coffman Jr of Norwood, and Melissa (Ryan) Schrader of Martinsville, IN; two great-grandchildren, Allie Coffman and Weston Schrader; two brothers, Joe Lane , and Danny (Carol) Lane both of Norwood; one sister, Dot (Paul) Dalby of Peoria.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
George worked at RL Nelson until his retirement on July 1, 2005. He is a member of Lord’s Table Church of God.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be from 8:30am-10:00am. Rev Dr. Burl Cole will officiate.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
