
James was born June 25, 1930 in Montier, MO to Charles Lionel and Ada Charlotte (Merrifield) King. He married Florence L Turner in 1956. He then later married Judith Bidleman and she preceded him in death.
Also preceding him in death was his parents, one brother, Hollis King and one sister, Ruth Butler.
Surviving is his former wife, Florence King of Creve Coeur, nine children, James L. (Anna) King Raleigh, N.C., Irvin D. King of Pekin, Richard A. King of Creve Coeur, Tammi Howell of Peoria, Maura (Jim) Everett of Peoria, Timothy (Erin) Bidleman of Auburn, IL, Terry (Natalie) Bidleman of Des Moines, IA, Theodore Bidleman of Winter Haven, FL, and Lynda Rhodes of Creve Coeur; twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked as a Janitor with Komatsu/Dresser for 32 years until retiring in 1993. He enjoyed photography, camping, fishing and traveling, especially to Colorado.
A private graveside service will be held. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria.
