James Alan Wolfmeyer

Born in Astoria, IL, on April 11, 1953, he was the son of the late Paul and Clara (Moorman) Wolfmeyer. On September 13, 1975, he married Debbie Sarver.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debbie Wolfmeyer; two sons, Timothy (Kelsi) Wolfmeyer of Bartonville, and Scott Wolfmeyer of St. Louis, MO; two granddaughters, Kaysen Lynn and Tinlee Jo; a sister, Joyce Daymude; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Wolfmeyer.

Wolfy served as a firefighter for the Peoria Fire Department for 30 years, retiring as an engineer. He was a basketball referee, and enjoyed bowling and softball. His favorite yearly activity was spending time with family and friends on Dead Lake in Dent, MN.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria from 9:00 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Christ Lutheran School, 1311 S Faraday, Peoria, IL 61605, or to the Greater Peoria Honor Flight, PO BOX 5072, Peoria, IL 61601. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
