Jana M. Krones

Jana M. Krones, age 48, of Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at her home. Jana was born on August 24, 1966 to John “Jack” A. and Valerie (Foster) Corey. She is survived by two children, Heather Krones of St. Louis, MO and Chase Krones of Peoria, IL; her mother, Valerie (Jerry) Hornbacker of Peoria; her sister, Lisa (Kevin) O’Malley of Peoria, IL; two step-brothers, Kent (Sylvia) Hornbacker of Houston, TX and Kurt (Colleen) Hornbacker of Livermore, CA; one step-sister, LeeAnn Rambow of Aurora, IL; and 11 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, her grandparents and her brother-in-law, Jimmy. Jana was a Registered Nurse for the Mother & Baby Floor at OSF for over 20 years and for the last few years at Cardinal Group. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Peoria where she played and sang for the praise and worship group, as well as the Heart of Illinois Chorus Sweet Adeline’s, German American Society, Cursillo Community and was involved with Cornstock Theatre. She was very active with Teens Encounter Christ, which was very dear to her. Jana was very devoted to her children and loved them dearly. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 10am at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Peoria. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 5pm to 8pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Father Terry Cassidy will be officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jana’s family for her son’s education, Teens Encounter Christ or Illinois Cancer Care.
