

She was born March 30, 1928 in Burbank, Scotland to John and Mary (Barton) Gill. Jean moved to Peoria when she was 13 months old. She married Albert Huber on June 12, 1948 at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Peoria. He preceded her in death on April 1, 1981 in Austin, Texas. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son Dave in 2011, an infant granddaughter, Amy, and two brothers: Tom and John Gill.
Jean is survived by two sons: Larry (Mary) of Colorado Springs, CO, James of Peoria (with whom she lived with until her move to Washington Christian Village in 2007), four grandsons: Jonas (Kristine), Jared, and Joshua all of Colorado, and Justin (Lisa) currently serving with the U.S. Army in Korea, two great-grandsons, Jonas Jeffrey “JJ”, and Kai both of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by one sister, Mary (Walter) White of Peoria Heights, two sisters-in-law: Betty Gill of East Peoria, and Joann Gill of Pekin, and many nieces and nephews on both sides of her family.
Jean worked at Caterpillar, Inc. as a typist during WWII until she was married. She was a housewife and mother and after Al’s retirement enjoyed winters in Brownsville, TX until Al’s death. She enjoyed playing Bingo, and sitting visiting on the driveway with her long time friend and neighbor, Mary Janke. She was looking forward to meeting her one year old great-grandson, Kai for the first time in June.
The family would like to thank Washington Christian Village for the care Jane was given over the past six years.
Funeral services will be Thursday May 30, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Chaplin Jim Gorby will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society of the charity of the donor’s choice.
