

Joan Marie Williams, 82, of Peoria, passed away on April 25, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Peoria with family by her side.
Called "Jo Jo" by her family, She was born on April 23, 1930 in Peoria to Kathryn and John Miller. Joan attended Manual High School and was a life-long Peoria. She married the love of her life, Richard (Dick) E. Williams on February 14, 1948 in Peoria. After Richard’s death in 2005, Joan continued to enjoy the home they had shared together along with her loving pets, Max, Topeka and Sweet Pea. She was a past Band President for Concordia Lutheran School and accompanied the band on their first trip to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC. She also volunteered at The Church Mouse here in Peoria, was a past officer for The Lutheran Women of Greater Peoria and was involved in the Care Ministry Program at Redeemer Lutheran Church here in Peoria.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Kathryn and John Miller.
She will be greatly missed by her 6 children; Cathy Metz(Alan)Rock Island, Il, Mary Sutherland, Peoria, Richard M. Williams (Brenda), Peoria, Terry Hamilton(Greg), Copley, OH, Ann Simpson and Andy Williams, Peoria, IL. They will especially miss her sense of humor, her gentle, loving spirit and they look forward to the day that they will all meet again.
Jo Jo was a loving grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, and was joyfully looking forward to the arrival of 4 more great-grandchildren this summer 2012.
Joan also leaves behind her sister, Donna J. Kuntz, Morton, Il and her brother John Miller, of Texas as well as many nieces and nephews.
Upon Joan’s request a private family burial will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Lutheran Cemetery . Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of life memorial service at Redeemer Lutheran Church at 11:00 AM Monday, April 30, 2012, The Family will receive friends after the memorial service at the church. The Rev. Ted Benson will officiate . Funeral arrangements are by the Davison Fulton Woolsey Wilton Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Care Ministry @ Redeemer Lutheran Church.
