

Jack was born on April 25, 1930, in Peoria, Ill., to Robert Emmett and Irene (Williams) Moran. He married Millie Johnson on Nov. 13, 1953, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 1991.
Jack is survived by his children, Jan Moran of Peoria, Ill., Joni Anderson of Peoria, Ill., Michael Moran of Peoria, Ill., Maureen "Reeno" (Greg Sewell) Moran of Bartonville, Ill., and Carla Fleming of Glasford, Ill., whom Jack considered a daughter. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Christina Moran, Robert Moran and Brandon Anderson; his great-grandson, Jaydon Fisher; and one sister, Mick Behnke of Morton, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; and three sisters, Shirley Sparks, Ruth Johnson and Roberta Light.
After serving in the United States Navy, John worked as a bricklayer, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, the Izaak Walton League of Spring Bay, and St. John's Catholic Church.
Jack enjoyed watching basketball and NASCAR and was a Bradley basketball, St. Louis Cardinals and Kyle Busch fan.
Jack was a very loving father who took great pride in his children, grandchildren and great-grandson, attending all of their sporting events. He will be missed by many.
The family wishes to thank all of the doctors and staff at OSF St. Francis Medical Center for their loving care.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria, with visitation two hours prior to the service, from 12 to 2 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be at Parkview Mausoleum with military honors.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Cancer Center, HeartCare Midwest or St. Jude.
Jack's wishes were to have a celebration of life, in which family and friends are invited to the KC Hall on Hill Street from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
