

Justin was born on Oct. 13, 1928 in Peoria to Phillip and Grace (Clark) Wolstenholm. He married Patricia Rhodes on Nov. 10, 1946 at the First Baptist Church of Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Ronald (Diane) of Ft. Myers, FL, Carey (Christine) of Naperville, and Gene (Justteen) of Peoria. Also blessing Justin's life are four grandchildren, Scott (Katherine) Wolstenholm of San Jose, CA, Jason Wolstenholm of Naperville, Ryan (Lisa) Wolstenholm of Owego, and Caitlin Schell of Washington; and one great grandson, Jack Wolstenholm.
Justin was preceded in death by daughters, Sally Whittemore, and Susan, in infancy; one brother, Jean; and sister, Joyce Cornelius.
He graduated from Manual Training High School in 1946 during which time he was involved in many school activities, including sports. Justin was an outstanding junior golfer in high school, a passion that carried on all of his life and to his children as well. After high school Justin worked for a local radio station as a disc jockey and broadcast Bradley and high school games.
He was employed by Becker Bros. and worked on many of their early projects in Peoria including the Sears block. Later Justin worked for Becker Bros. Lumber Co. and was a familiar and helpful sight to many local contractors in the area. Also later he became a self-employed carpenter in Peoria and finally worked for and retired from Peoria School Dist. 150 as a carpenter working out of the “Tin Shed” below Peoria High School.
Justin was the official scorer for 25 years at Peoria High basketball games. Justin and Pat were inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Peoria where he volunteered on many committees and boards.
Cremation has been accorded. Memorial Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Peoria, with Rev. Thomas G. Bayes Jr. officiating. Family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Saturday at the church. Burial of ashes will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens at a later date. Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
Per family’s request, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Peoria, or to the Hollis Cemetery Restoration Organization at 422 W. Lakewood in Peoria, IL 61614, where Justin was a founding member.
