He was born on September 13, 1936 in Peoria, IL to John and Anne (Meyer) Wells. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Carolyn Dixon.
Surviving are his niece and nephews, Debbie (Mike) Schlappi of Towanda, IL; David (Diana) Dixon of Bolingbrook, IL and Chris (Lynn) Dixon of East Peoria. Also surviving is one sister, Leann Scales of Peoria and several additional nieces, nephews, great-niece and nephews and great-great nephews.
Larry served in the US. Army during peace time and worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of the UAW Local 974 and the Hanna City Sportsmen’s Club.
A funeral will be held on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 2:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. The Rev. Paul Isom will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
