Lawrence Eugene Kamrath

Lawrence Eugene Kamrath, age 85, of Peoria, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 with his family at his side.

Larry was born February 16, 1940 in Portage, Wisconsin to Eugene and Irene (McMahon) Kamrath. Larry married Carol (Grabman) Kamrath on June 9, 1962. Together they raised five children and spent 62 years together. He retired from Richwoods Community High School where he taught chemistry and physics for 34 years and also coached JV tennis.

Larry’s family, grandchildren & great grandchildren meant a lot to him. He really enjoyed visiting with family and friends; playing cards, canoe trips, square dancing, travel, reading and of course, Packer games.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Carol; children, Stephanie (Scott) Stocker of DeWitt, Iowa, Stuart Kamrath of Springfield, Illinois, Heather Feeney of Elgin, Illinois, Melissa (Dave) Miller of Round Rock, Texas and Brent ( Tiffany) Kamrath of Chillicothe, Illinois; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Sharon Richter; sister-in-law, Veronica Kamrath; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis Kamrath and brother-in-law, Jack Richter. We’re sure Larry, Dennis and Jack are looking for a fourth to play euchre right now. He was a loving husband, supportive father, and best “GPA”, who will be forever remembered.

Larry wished to have a private service for his family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria.
