Leonard Brown

Leonard Brown, 90 of Peoria passed away at 12:40pm Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Manor Court in Peoria. He was born July 16, 1927 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Carlton and Nellie Stought Brown. He married Eleanor Monier on November 11, 1956. She preceded him in death on November 30, 2015.

Leonard is survived by two sons; Steven C. Brown of Pompano, FL and Thomas A Brown of West Allis, WI; also a sister; Barbara Kinsman of Peoria. He was the Chief Deputy Clerk for the United States Federal District Court until his retirement. Leonard served his county in the United States Navy and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Peoria. He was a member of the Peoria Masonic Lodge, The Scottish Rite, and the Mohammed Shrine Temple in Peoria. Leonard was also a past member of the Shrine Kiltie Band. Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will be from 9:30-11:00 am on Friday January 5, 2018 with a memorial service to follow at his church. Pastor Laura Reason will officiate. Memorials may be made to the United Presbyterian Church Choir. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
