Marilyn J. Garnant

She was born June 3, 1927 in Peoria to Alvin and Lilian (Harms) Peplow. She married Lewis F. Garnant July 5, 1947 in Peoria. He passed away July 1, 1994 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Garnant and one brother, Raymond Peplow.

Survivors include three daughters: Kathy (Joe) Thompson of Galesburg, Mary (Rick) Allen of Granite Falls, North Carolina, Karen (Tom Sexton) Garnant of Lakewood, Colorado, four sons: Michael Garnant of Barrington, Illinois, William (Wendy) Garnant of East Peoria, Robert Garnant of Perth, West Australia, Brian (Margo) Garnant of Peoria, seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one brother, Tom Peplow of Peoria.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Peoria.

Marilyn was of strong faith and family values. Her children were blessed by her continued support of them through the years. She was a wonderful woman who inspired many with her kindness. She had friends from her youth that supported each other through life’s journey. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will always be in our hearts as she now resides with our Lord and Savior.

Funeral services will be Wednesday January 1, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 11:30 till time of services on Wednesday at the church. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday January 2, 2014 at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.

Memorials may be made to Concordia Lutheran School in Peoria.
