She was born April 8, 1927 in Kentucky, a daughter of Jesse and Wanda Johnson Skaggs, she married Eugene Vaughn on June 24, 1967 in Peoria. He survives.
Also surviving are three children, Betty (Chuck) Jenkins of Peoria, Connie Hedman of Sapulpa, OK, and Mike Simmons of Sand Springs, OK; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.
She is preceded in death by her parents and five brothers and sisters.
Martha was employed by International Paper Co. in Peoria and later retiring from FP Webkote Inc in Peoria.
She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 11, 2010 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Rev. Douglas Lightly will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
