Mary Louise Buss

Mary Louise Buss, aged 89, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in Chillicothe. Mary was born on March 11, 1936 in Peoria to Paul V. and Lenora F. (Gaede) Lutker. She married Roy T. McIntire on December 1, 1956. She later married Merle L. Buss on June 12, 1977.

Both preceded her in death along with her sister and three nephews.

She is survived by daughters, Linda McIntire and Debora McIntire; son, Guy (Lora) McIntire; stepdaughter, Sue (Phil) Fifield; and stepsons, Kent (Diane) Buss and Roger Buss. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two nephews.

She was a member of the Peoria Nazarene Church. She taught Sunday School for fifty years, and she played piano and organ at Galena Road Baptist Church and Bethel Free Methodist Church for sixty years.

She was a member of The King’s Trio and The Redeemed gospel trio for thirty-five years. She will be most remembered for her God-given talent for playing the piano and singing. She always participated in church activities and worship music, regularly performing at nursing homes, Bickford House, weddings, and funerals.

She worked for Hyster in Peoria as a secretary, District 150 as a school bus driver and in the office of the American Red Cross. She also owned and operated Buss Hilltop Storage.

Mary's funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, May 19, 2025 at the Peoria Nazarene Church. Pastor Mark McCall will officiate. Her visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am also on Monday at the church. Burial will take place in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
