Obituary of Mary Campbell
Mary E. Campbell, 77 of Peoria, passed away Friday, January 20, 2023 at Unity Point Health Methodist in Peoria. Born July 14, 1945 in Chicago, IL to Robert and Helen (Enright) Hauser; she married Gary Campbell on August 14, 1965 in Peoria. He survives. Also surviving are her sons, Cory (Mollie) Campbell of Dunlap and Chad (Adrienne Parkhurst) Campbell of St. Charles, IL; grandchildren, Chloe, Carly, Christian and Cade; sister, Judy (Edward) Welp; and nephews, Jeff and Eric Welp. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Hauser. Mary attended St. Bernards Primary School, and Spalding “The Academy of our Lady,” graduating in 1963. After High School, Mary attended Fontbonne College and Bradley University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in 1967 and a Master’s Degree in 1972. Mary started her professional career as a Primary School teacher for District 150 for 9 years. After teaching, Mary was the owner and operator of Campbell and Associates Accounting in Peoria for many years. She was quiet and gentle lady who was caring and compassionate- always putting others needs first. She was exceptionally disciplined to balance the needs of her family with her professional life; always making time to attend important events for her children and grandchildren. She cherished family time and loved the Christmas season. She was especially fond of sweets, especially all things chocolate! A memorial service will be held at 11:30 am Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria with Pastor Steve Weber officiating. Memorial visitation will precede the service 10:00 – 11:30 am. Cremation has been accorded with private inurnment at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
