Monika Ruth Sperl, 68, of Peoria, formerly of Munich, Germany, passed away at 8:44 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at her home. She was born Oct. 27, 1944 in Grossenhain, Germany to Eduard and Eleonore (Sahnwaldt) Reisgies. She married Ferdinand Peter Sperl in Iceland on March 3, 1984. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Surviving is her daughter, Frances Sperl of Peoria; sister, Ruth (Gert Vutz) Schaefer of Lisle, IL; and 2 brothers, Werner (Edith) Reisgies and Heinz (Heidi) Reisgies both of Munich, Germany. Funeral Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Cremation will be accorded following services with inurnment of ashes at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or P.A.W.S.
