He was born on September 20, 1936 in Peoria, IL, to Dennis and Dorothy (Lester) Carmichael. He married Eva Miller on July 25, 1959, in Peoria. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2008.
Also preceding him in death are his parents.
Ralph is survived by his sons, Richard (Denise) Carmichael of Edwards, Michael (Jacqueline Berns) Carmichael of Tempe, AZ, and Ralph (Chris) Carmichael of Peoria; grandchildren, Cami (Joshua) Joplin, Wheeler (Jaide) Carmichael, and Benjamin Carmichael-Berns; and great-grandchildren, Lexi, Drake, Kashtian, Alaina and Rowyn.
Ralph worked for Caterpillar until his retirement in 1993. He was a member and Union Steward of the UAW Local #974. He loved drag racing, NASCAR, and was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan.
A funeral service will be held at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 11a.m., with a visitation to start an hour prior at 10a.m. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery.
