Randy was born October 9, 1967 at Methodist Hospital in Peoria to Roger and Nancy (Graf) Gilles. While Randy was born with severe disabilities and required lifelong care by his loving parents, he brought a lot of joy to his family and friends. While Randy couldn’t not communicate with words, he was able to convey so many emotions with his big smile, his joy of music and reaching out to hold your hand when you were sitting next to him.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. When his mother passed away in 2021, Randy went to live in a very loving group home in Galesburg, where he made several new friends. His guardian, Jeanette Errion, was a frequent visitor to the home to make sure Randy had everything he needed including his favorite fish sandwiches from McDonalds. We would like to give a special thank you to everyone who visited Randy while he was living in Galesburg.
Survivors include his aunt, Jeanette Errion of Washington; his cousin, Stacy Errion of Clearwater, Florida and the Gilles family from Kickapoo where he has dozens of relatives.
Services will be held graveside at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Kickapoo on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Randy’s name to St. Jude’s Hospital which provides free health care to children with special needs.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Woolsey-Wilton.com for the Gilles family.
