

He was born Oct. 7, 1952 in Springfield, IL to Earl G. and Anna (Evans) Hagaman. He married Karen Collins on June 1, 1991 in Bartonville. She survives along with three children: Angela Dawson of Peoria, Jamie (Patrick) Dawson-McDonnell of Denver, CO, Beth Telander-Simpson of Fiat, IL, three grandchildren: Tyson Groh, Sean McDonnell, Dalton Simpson, and one great-granddaughter, Willow Groh. He is also survived by two brothers: Jim (Toni) Hagaman of Peoria, Bob Hagaman of Morton, one sister, Carol (Bob) Klasing of Vincennes, IN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Mike Hagaman.
Rich was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam era. Following his time in the military, Rich worked for Fleming & Potter Printing in Peoria then moved to Cameo Color in East Peoria until its closing. He then was a Laborer with Iron Hustler’s until his retirement in 2017.
He was one of the founding members of the Peo-Taz ABATE and the Freedomvalley ABATE. He was also a member of Crusaders for Kids in the Peoria area. Rich was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed repairing and building Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. He built his wife a 1977 Harley so they could ride together along with his brothers and so many friends that were made through the years. He was in the process of rebuilding a 1940 Harley. He was an avid racing fan of anything with a motor. Rich was a handyman that could fix or build anything.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of Rich’s life will be Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria.
